About

Wendy’s art practice stems from her passion for colour and texture, nurtured through her experiences as a cook, event florist, and her love of interior design. Over the past five years, she has dedicated herself to drawing and painting, taking strong inspiration from the mid-century modern aesthetic. Her recent solo exhibition, Jumble Sale focussed on tonal value while capturing the memories stored in her sister in laws vintage coloured glass collection. These pieces are bold and fun, intricately detailing the transparent form.

Wendy’s love of the mid century era is heavily influenced by the nostalgia of this period. She experiments with these feelings through her use of colour, often testing the viewers connections between the image and the emotions colours evoke.
